1111 North Capitol St.: Future Site of NPR

I was given a photo assignment by one of my supervisors to document the site and surroundings of NPR’s new headquarters as it undergoes renovation. Located at 1111 North Capitol St. in the NOMA (north of Massachusetts Ave.) District of D.C., NPR bought the historic warehouse and land for an undisclosed amount in 2008. The warehouse was formerly owned by the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co. and was leased to the Smithsonian Institution as a space to build large exhibit assets such as fiberglass models displayed in the Museum of Natural History. NPR is slated to move into the neighborhood and their new headquarters in late 2011 to 2012.
